After Tooth Extraction Instructions

AFTER TOOTH EXTRACTION

Apply pressure with a gauze pad for 30-45 minutes to stop bleeding and form a blood clot. If bleeding continues, replace the gauze and bite down for another 30 minutes. Avoid activities that could dislodge the clot for the next 72 hours, such as vigorous rinsing, straw use, smoking, and alcohol consumption. Limit exercise for 24 hours.

PAIN AND SWELLING

Use ice packs to minimize swelling and take prescribed pain medication. Swelling usually subsides after 48 hours.

DIET AND HYDRATION

Consume liquids and soft foods as comfort allows. Stay hydrated.

ORAL CARE

Resume your regular dental routine, including brushing and flossing, 24 hours after the extraction.
